Teacher's Day


Teacher's Day

Teacher's Day is celebrated in India on 5th September every year from 1962. The day is celebrated in the honor of India's second President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. It is the day when the country remembers and respects the contribution of teachers in the society and student's life.

On the same day i.e. 5th September in 1888 Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born in Madras Presidency. Beside President of India, he was a great scholar and philosopher. He believes that "teachers should be the best minds in the country". In 1962, some students want to celebrate his birthday. He advice them to celebrate it as "Teacher's Day" to recognised their contribution nationally. From them onwards the day is celebrated as Teacher's Day.

Teachers are the architect of future generation. They provide valuable knowledge and skill to every student which defines their future life. Schools and Colleges all over India celebrate Teacher's Day with different cultural and fun-filled activities. Students bring gifts like flowers, greeting cards, Pens etc to shows their love and respect to teachers. Also teachers give their well wish to students for success in life.
