Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on 27th January 1756 in Salzburg, now a part of Austria. He was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era. He composed over 600 works, which went ahead to influence the present Western art of Music. He produced the most acknowledged work of symphonic, concerto, chamber, operatic, and choral music. Even Beethoven composed his early works inspired from that of Mozart’s.

Childhood

Wolfgang was born to father Leopold Mozart and mother Anna Maria. Leopold was a minor composer and experienced teacher. At the age of 5, Wolfgang started composing little pieces which were written by his father.

Education

Wolfgang’s formal education was into musical world which was given by his father only. At his childhood only, Mozart showed interest in Clavier and since then his father began teaching him actively. From 1962-73, the family kept moving from places to places in Europe as Leopold wanted to showcase his son’s abilities as a musician. During this time Wolfgang came in contact with many noted musicians and started acquainting himself with their work.

Career

In 1973, when family finally settled in Italy, Mozart was employed as a court musician by the ruler of Salzburg. Wolfgang got the opportunity to work on symphonies, sonatas, string quartets, masses, serenades, and a few minor operas. Later, a short journey to Paris in search of work saw the making of “A minor piano sonata” and the "Paris Symphony” between 1977 and 1978. From 1782-85, Mozart became actively involved and perfectionist as Pianist in the whole of German speaking Europe, and performed some notable work - “The Abduction from the Seraglio”, most successful among all.

At the End

During the final years of his life, Mozart actively produced some of the finest and still renowned work of music. Notably, “The Magic Flute” was performed several times; the “Clarinet Concerto” his final piano Concerto and “The Little Masonic Cantata” was premiered on 15 November 1791.

Sustaining a long illness, Mozart finally died on 5th December 1791 at his home. He was only 35 years old. After his death, his reputation increased substantially and many authors came ahead to write his biography.
